Day 25 - 30 day Cleaning Challenge

Today's Assignment is:
  • Surface Clean Living room and Kitchen
  • One load of Laundry

Well... today we had a busy and fun morning!

We went to books for breakfast this morning and then right after met a friend at the park!  Since we have been home I've been plugging away at today's assignment in between feeding the kids lunch and putting together trial packs for my 10 day clean eating challenge that starts next week!!

I've started prepping the menu for the challenge but still have some work to do on it since it's a new one!  But i'm excited to start!

There is so much interest in the 21 day fix success groups  right now!  So I'm thinking I'll do two rounds back to back for those who have ordered recently since the first round begins on Tuesday!  I just love this program!  It's great for everyone because literally anyone can do these workouts and the nutrition guide is awesome!

Well I'm going to go put the littlest stinker for a nap now!

Here is tomorrow's Cleaning Assignment
  • Deep Clean Kitchen (scrub appliances, wash trash cans, base boards, wipe down and straighten cabinets)
  • One Load of Laundry
I should be able to get this one done in the morning before preschool drop off!! I hope!

Happy Mother's Day

It's Mothers Day!

This morning I got to sleep in.... sort of and then I came out of the bedroom to coffee and breakfast made for me.  After Breakfast I then shipped Asher and Gord off to do their Lacrosse team photos for 9am!

I'll be heading out shortly with my momma to take her for a coffee and walk around the garden centre!  It's the perfect day for it too.

I've already done my Assignment for Day 21 of the 30 day cleaning challenge which was:

  • Surface clean the bathrooms
  • One Load of Laundry
After Fraser's messy Breakfast I gave him a bath this morning and now he is napping!!  So I had to tidy up the bathroom anyways!  Love when the assignments match what is needed for that day.

Some day's life as a mom is wonderful and you feel thankful for your life and all the blessings you have.  But all Mother's have difficult days too.  Some day's the house is a mess and the kids are driving me crazy and I can't seem to get anything accomplished, but I know that the good days outshine the bad and know that our kids love us no matter what kind of day we are having!

It's so important that we take time for our selves whether it's 30 minutes to workout each day so you can feel energized and ready for the day, or a coffee date with a friend to get away and just be an adult for a while.  It's important to take time for ourselves.

I personally find that when I've made the time to workout in the morning I have more patience and energy to play with my boys throughout the day.

I hope each and every momma enjoys some time with their kids today but also a little me time as well!

Enjoy this beautiful day!

Day 16 - 30 Day Cleaning Challenge - Deep Clean the bathroom

Today's Assignment was:

  • Deep Clean the Bathroom
  • One Load of Laundry

I assigned my hubby to this assignment today!  Have to delegate sometimes right?!?!

After we got both kids into bed I snapped the before pictures and he cleaned while I did my power hour.  Then when he was done I took the after photos!  Gotta love that!

Here are the before shots!!

After photos:

He did good!  Telling me right now that he even dusted my orchid!  Nice guy LOL

I'm just happy I didn't have to clean up the pee on the floor this week!  Woot!!

Tomorrow's assignment is:

  • Clean all door knobs, phones, remotes, switch plates, banisters etc.
  • One load of laundry
I like this assignment!

Day 15 - 30 Days of Cleaning - Surface Clean Living room and Kitchen

Today's Assignment was:

  • Surface clean living room and kitchen
  • one load of laundry
Got it done this afternoon after we came home from Strong start and had lunch!  I'm trying to gert Fraser to skip his morning nap and hopefully take an extra long one around 12 noon.  He skipped his morning nap just fine and was passed out in the car on the way home before I even left the school parking lot, however he still only slept for 30 minutes!  I could tell though that he hadn't slept long enough and was ready for a second nap around 2pm.  While he was napping I quickly did my surface clean!

Kitchen before:

Water running to wash bottles.

After photos of the Kitchen:

Can't put my 21 day fix containers away, using them too much!

Before of the Living room/Play area

After:
And the laundry basket ready to go down stairs for the last part of the assignment!

Fraser playing with the toys I left out!

Tomorrow's Assignment is:

  • Deep clean bathroom (inside drawers, inside trash cans, mirror, mop, tub)
  • One load of laundry

Day 14 - 30 Day Cleaning Challenge - Under the bed!!

Today's Challenge was:

  • Deep Clean bedroom (Organize Drawers, check under bed, tidy closet, dust blinds, mop)
  • One Load of Laundry

I didn't know if I was going to have time for this assignment today as it was a bigger job and we had a busy day!  But I got it done and well.... here is how it went!

The blinds were actually pretty clean since I hired a house cleaner about a month or more ago and that was #1 on my list for them to do!

And my Drawers, I reorganized last week so it was just a bit of dusting, under the bed and tidying the closet as well as doing the floors!

Under the bed was pretty funny!  I enlisted my husband to do this job and he found a huge selection of balls under our bed!

Plus he also located my long lost favourite lip balm!!!  So happy to have it back!

That made my day!

Now for the yucky finds under the bed.... dust, hair and kleenex!  Our dog loves to go into the bathroom garbage, pull out the kleenex and proceed to eat it under our bed!  Frustrating as hell cause I'll come home to a trail of kleenex from the bathroom to the bedroom!

Tomorrow's Assignment is:

  • Surface Clean living room and kitchen
  • One load of laundry

Now that will be an easy one to complete.... besides the toy mess!

Day 12 and 13 - 30 days of cleaning challenge! Closets and junk room!

In between making dinner and having family time at the pool today I cleaned the hall closet, got rid of a few jackets we don't wear anymore and put a few things that belonged in there back!

Good thing it was a rainy afternoon today otherwise I may not have done my cleaning jobs!  Is it me or is it more difficult for everyone to hunker down and get stuff done on the weekends?

Gord is home and I just want to go out and do fun stuff with him and the kids!  I find it harder to eat healthy, and fit my workouts in when he is off too!

This morning I did my laundry, had a family breakfast and then we hit to pool with the boys!  Asher is starting to get way more comfortable in the pool and we are seeing a huge improvement in him!  So proud!  Today was Fraser's first trip to the pool and he was on the cusp of needing a nap so he didn't last as long as i'd hoped but had fun while he was in there!
Someone photo bombed me when I tried to
take a photo of the upper part of the closet...
you can still see it right?

Here are the after photos:
Little monkey found it quite funny when he and Daddy photo bombed me!  At least he is cute!!

After a few minutes of rearranging and getting rid of stuff!
Floor space!!
Now today's assignment was to Surface clean the Multi purpose room... or any random room in your home!  For us this room is our junk collector!  It's our laundry room, stamping space, freezer area, storage room, growing room for my tomato seedlings.... and junk room!  It collects everything, but luckily it just needed a little pick me up!  So I took about 10 minutes just before the boys went to bed and I tidied it up!

Here are the before photos:

My growing area for my precious tomato seedlings
The main junk collection spot!
Note Shakeology box filled with supplies
for an event I attended last month!
Just a tidy up, close the drawer,
organized the papers on the top of the file cabinet
and put away the potty stool!

After photos:
ahhhhh clean surface.... available for refilling with junk!

Nice and tidy!

Tomorrow's assignment is:
  • Deep Clean bedrooms (Organize Drawers, check under bed, tidy closet, dust, blinds, mop)
  • One load of Laundry
Hopefully I can get this assignment done tomorrow on time.... might have to enlist my little helper~

Healthy Team Lunch and Cleaning Assignment for Day 11

Today Asher's team has a Lacrosse game and it's my week to do the after game lunch!

We decided to make sandwiches! So we hit up the local butcher to get their in house no nitrate or preservative deli meat, we picked ham and turkey.

We then picked up 4 loaves of whole wheat bread, blueberries, raspberries, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, juice boxes, and veggie chips!

Last night after the boys were in bed Gord and I made veggie, ham, turkey and egg sandwiches. We baked a batch of cookies, made fruit skewers, cut up veggies and put them all into easy to serve containers.

We got a lot done and I'm happy with our healthy lunch for all the kids on the team plus siblings and parents too!

The kids loved the Fruit skewers, and we had actually completely forgot to put them out and there were only 4 kids left hanging around when we did.... and guess what?  They are all gone!

I know some of the kids may have chosen not to have a sandwich because we used whole wheat bread, but I don't believe in over processed white bread so I decided that I wasn't going to provide that option.  Most of the kids were quite happy with the Sandwiches and I didn't hear any complaints!

Of course we had WAY too much food, and we will be eating sandwiches for dinner I guess but it was fun and you really see the kids bonding when you get them all together after the game!  So much fun!

We set everything up on the back of the tailgate and Fraser was having a grand old time trying to steal all the food he could reach!  At one point he actually grabbed a cookie and was about to take a big bite!  He did enjoy a bit of bread from one of the sandwiches and he also got a hold of a half a ham sandwich too so we let him gnaw on it a bit ;)

Fun day!

Yesterday was bathroom cleaning day and there wasn't much to blog about other than the usual bathroom stuff but today's assignment is: Clean closets ( hang up clothes, organize mittens, jackets, hats)!

I'll likely do some gardening this afternoon, have some family time, I have a call with one of my coaches scheduled and then do the closets later today so look for my post tomorrow! I've got some closets in serious need of organizing!!

Day 9 and 10 - 30 day cleaning challenge

I'm a day behind posting this as I had a great meeting with one of my coaches last night and enjoyed the day in the sun with my boys yesterday! So although I completed my assignment in the morning, I didn't do the blog post!

But! Here I am!!

Yesterday's assignment was:

Surface clean a bedroom
One load of laundry

I chose Asher's room to clean cause it just needed a tidy.

Check it out:
Clothes needing put away couple toys and items out of place.
Too much stuff on the top of that dresser!
Crazy closet!  Probably can't even close the doors
without kicking a few things in first!

After

So much better!
I think the doors might close now without any force!
My little helpers!

Today's assigned is:

Deep clean living room (baseboards, dust, wipe tables)
One load of laundry

Asher helped me dust and do the baseboards using the dust mit!

Look at that good kid!
yum.... yuck!  This was the heater behind the toy trunk....
we pulled it out and cleaned under and behind it!
I hardly had to do much for this assignment!
Love my helper boy!
This was a ring on the top of the fireplace glass top!
Got it off easy with my glass cleaning cloth from Norwex!
Seriously love that cloth!
For this whole assignment today I used norwex, and love that I didn't waste any paper towel!  I'm not trying to sell any norwex here... just excited :)

Tomorrow's assignment is:

  • Clean Bathrooms!!!!!
  • One load of laundry
You might wonder why i'm so excited about cleaning the bathrooms.... it's because I need to clean the upstairs bathroom BAD!  That smell of pee has started to stink up my bathroom (darn boys) and I was tempted last night to just tear it apart and clean... I did do the bowl cause it was getting dingy but I knew this assignment must be coming up soon so I waited! Glad I did!!!  Tomorrow I will clean that stinky bathroom!!!

I'm off to make my breakfast!

Day 8 - 30 Day Cleaning challenge - Clean interior windows catch up andclean the floors

Today's assignment was much needed!  I usually do the floors every couple days around here because kids just make so many crumbs and the dog sheds too!

I also caught up on yesterday's assignment of cleaning the interior windows and I also cleaned the sills and part where it slides too!  Pretty yucky!!

Yuck look at all that dirt and dog hair

Much better!

Tomorrow's assignment is:

  • Surface clean bedroom (dust, sweep, pick up and put away stray items)
  • One load of laundry
This one should be easy!

Now I had better get my workout in before this babe wakes up!!

Day 7 - 30 Day Cleaning Challenge - Workout or clean....

Ugh.... my littlest man decided that an 8 minute nap was about all he needed this morning and I didn't get my workout in until nearly 10:30am.  And that was with him awake and playing, and me running over to pass him a new toy when he had tossed all of them out of reach!

After my workout, I hopped in the shower quickly (it was a sweaty one), and made Asher a quick sandwich before we had to head out the door for school.

I had hoped to do my Cleaning assignment this morning but that didn't happen and when we got home, Asher's neighbour friends we outside so we visited and they played and before you know it, 5pm had arrived, Gord was home and it was time to cook dinner!  And now here it is 8:20pm and I haven't had a moment to clean those windows!  So I'll be tacking them to tomorrows list!

Gord and I started our 21day fix meal plan today and I wanted to make sure I got my workout in too! Sometimes you just gotta pick and choose your priorities and Working out is one of my "must do's"!

Check out my yummy Salad I had for lunch today!  2 Green, one red (salmon), one blue (walnuts)!  And balsamic vinaigrette!  So So good!  I made this salad in about 3 minutes on a rush out the door for preschool knowing I had errands to run and probably wouldn't make it back home in time to eat lunch!  So I threw this together and out the door we went!  So yummy!

P.S. the colours refer to the colour coded containers you use in the 21 day fix!  It's seriously an awesome way understand portion control and how much your actually supposed to eat! I know for me I don't eat enough meat (red) and even veggies (green) so when I portion them out like this it always surprises me how much I should be eating for a serving!  It's more than you think!  And sometimes less that you think too!

Foods like nuts, tho healthy are often over consumed and you would be surprised how small that container is!

Tonight at dinner the amount of potato in the Yellow container for carbs was actually just right for me!  So I was quite happy!

Tomorrow's Assignment:

  • Sweep or Vacuum floors and stairs
  • One Load of Laundry
  • And my catch up clean all interior windows

Day 6 - 30 Day Cleaning Challenge - Clean a Bathroom

Today's assignment is:

  • Clean a Bathroom or other room in your home
  • One load of Laundry
For today's assignment I chose to clean our downstairs bathroom because it hadn't been done in a few weeks and I knew the toilet was pretty nasty!

Surprisingly the bathroom wasn't too bad, the inside of the toilet was pretty yucky but it was clean on the outside.  So this was a pretty easy job today!  I'm pretty sure the inside of the toilet gets gross because when Gord puts Asher to bed at night they seem to forget about flushing and for some reason having pee pee sit in the bowl makes the toilet look pretty dirty pretty fast!

Anyways here are my before photos:

After photos:

I also spent quite a bit of time down stairs today putting away kid laundry.... I always seem to procrastinate putting their clothes away!

The boys played happily together while I cleaned down stairs and folded laundry this morning so that was quite nice!!

Now i'm off to meal plan for the week since Gord and I will be starting the 21 day fix again this week and doing the combat workouts instead of the fix workouts since i'm already doing combat with my success group!!  Should be a week of good food!!

Tomorrow's Assignment is:

  • Clean interior windows
  • One load of laundry
Looking forward to using my window cloth!!
